Booking Terms & Cancellation Policy
Welcome! These terms cover everything you can book with me at helenparis.com: live Zoom classes and workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and editorial feedback. They don't affect your statutory consumer rights.
Booking and payment
Your place is confirmed once payment is received, and you'll get an email with all the details within one working day.
Changed your mind? You have 14 days
You can cancel any booking within 14 days of purchase, no reason needed. Just email helenfparis@protonmail.com
If you've asked for a session or manuscript read to begin within those 14 days and then cancel, I'll refund you minus the fair value of anything already delivered. Refunds are made within 14 days, to your original payment method.
Classes
More than 14 days before the start: full refund (minus payment fees)
7 to 14 days before: 50% refund, or one free transfer to a future class
Fewer than 7 days before, or once the class has begun: no refund, but you're welcome to pass your place to a fellow writer/artist.
If you miss a session, I'll send you the materials. Missed sessions can't be refunded.
Mentoring and Solo
Please give 48 hours notice to reschedule a session. Late cancellations and no-shows count as delivered. Mentoring packages should be used within 6 months, after which unused sessions expire.
Manuscript feedback
Before I receive your manuscript: full refund, minus a £5 admin fee
Once I've started reading: no refund, as the work has begun
Feedback is based on the word count you booked.
If I need to cancel
Classes run with a minimum of 4 people. If I cancel or can't reschedule within 7 days, you'll get a full refund or a place in the next class. If I'm ill, I'll rearrange your session as soon as I can.
What I can promise
I'll teach and give feedback with care and skill, but I can't guarantee outcomes like publication, project funding or representation.
Confidentiality and your work
Classes and mentoring are confidential. Please don't record or share other people's work or stories. Your writing/work always belongs to you, and I'll keep manuscripts private and delete them 6 months after we finish. My course materials are © HelenParis and are for your personal use only.
Tech and privacy
You'll need a device and connection that can run Zoom. If a session is disrupted on my side, I'll offer a replacement. I handle your data in line with UK and EU GDPR: see my Privacy Policy.
Questions or complaints?
Email helenfparis@protonmail.com and I'll reply within 2-5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you keep the protections of your local consumer law if you live elsewhere in the UK or EU.
