The Intensive Edit

This deep dive edit focuses on refining the language, pacing and structural flow of your writing to ensure your story or argument is as impactful as possible. It addresses how your words work together on both a macro and micro level. It will include in-the-margin notes which identify scene-by-scene issues, dialogue that is repetitive, or any problems with clarity. It will look at:

  • structure

  • voice

  • argument (for academic articles)

  • pacing

  • audience

  • strengths and opportunities

It includes annotated manuscript revision with suggested line edits and a detailed 15–20 page written report. The report will give suggestions on what sections to trim, expand, or completely rewrite.
